My name is Colin Crisostomo, and I am a graphic designer and self taught digital 3D artist. I specialize in designing creatures, texturing, and rigging. I also have some experience with photo/video editing and simple animations. I have always been interested in speculative evolution and biology at a young age, which in turn influenced my art style. I find the idea of building a creature based on scientific discoveries helps make the designs more grounded and feel like it could actually exist. I am looking forward to working with you and making your ideas into a reality.
Q: How long have you been 3D modeling?
A: I have been 3D modeling since 2016.
Q:Why did you become a digital 3D artist?
A: I always felt that there was not much I could do with a 2D piece, so I learned to make 3D models and rig them so I can bring them to life.
Q: How difficult is it to create a 3D model?
A: It depends on how complex the model is. Low poly models tend to be easy while a higher polygon count will be more challenging, especially when rigging for animation.
Q: What program do you use?
A: The program I have the most experience with is Blender. I also occasionally use photoshop and other similar software (like Krita).
Q: How much does it cost to use Blender?
A: Blender is a free open source program. If you want to learn how to 3D model and animate, it is the most popular option if you cannot afford to pay for a subscription.
Q: Have you used any other type of media other than digital?
A: Yes, I used to do traditional charcoal and ink based drawings.
Where I post my finished projects. Most of my art here is mostly 3D renders or fictional creatures I drew.
Where I am most active, I post both my work in progress and finished works here.
